Welcome

Thank you for visiting the Undergraduate Programme website!

The HKU Faculty of Dentistry was established about 30 years ago, encompassing the finest European traditions of dental education. Since then, the Faculty has had an international staff mix from at least 16 different countries, leading to a unique melting pot of ideas that has moulded the theory and practice of dentistry currently practised by our students. Our undergraduate student body is particularly vibrant, has a keen international outlook, and is committed to serving the community, and a good proportion has first degrees.

However, what is currently most acclaimed about our undergraduate programme, both in the region and internationally, is our competency-based, student-centred, problem-based learning (PBL) programme, which has produced a new genre of skilled, empathic graduates who are well-versed in the practice of modern dental, oral, and maxillofacial sciences.

If you are reading this message, then it is very likely that you are considering enrolment in our undergraduate programme—a programme that is second to none in terms of the unique education we offer. I do hope that you find our programme attractive and the information provided in this website adequate. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us (dentke@hku.hk).

As the Dean of this great institution, I will be waiting to extend you the warmest welcome when you arrive here, and I can assure you of a wonderful learning environment that will fulfil all your educational and personal goals.

Good luck in your search! I hope to meet you soon.
