The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) has been ranked No.3 in the scholastic ratings of dental schools around the world, according to the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 and continues to be HKU’s highest-ranked subject. The Faculty has been ranked among the top 1% of dental schools worldwide for consecutive seven years.

The Faculty has been ranked among the top 1% of dental schools worldwide for consecutive seven years.
In the Chinese culture, “3” is considered to be a lucky number. Kicking off 2021, the Faculty is honored to be ranked the 3rd place among 442 institutions at the QS World University Rankings in Dentistry. It reaffirms the global recognition of the Faculty’s achievements in offering quality academic programmes for training professional dentists, dental specialists, academics, researchers, oral healthcare policy makers and contributors to other professions, amid the challenging situation posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Professor Thomas Flemmig, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, is delighted to learn about the Faculty’s latest ranking, “I would like to thank all staff and students for maintaining high-emotional resilience despite the fluctuating pandemic conditions and their hard work in maintaining clinical teaching and patient treatment during the past year. Their dedication and professional commitment to their role is most commendable. We are enthusiastic about making an impact on peoples’ lives in Hong Kong and around the world by improving access to high-quality oral healthcare and enhancing clinical outcomes and lowering costs.”
With the joint efforts of all staff and students, the Faculty will continue to strive to be the global leader in oral health sciences, education, and professional care, delivering impact through innovation, interdisciplinarity and internationalization.

據國際高等教育機構QS剛公布的「2021世界大學學科排名」，香港大學牙醫學院獲評為全球第三名的牙醫學府，乃是香港大學十個學院之冠。與此同時，學院亦連續七年位列全球牙醫學府首1%的名次。
牙醫學院在全球442所高等教育機構中，榮膺QS「2021世界大學學科排名」 的第三位。本年度的排名再次肯定了國際對港大牙醫學院的認可，成就斐然。尤其在新型冠狀病毒的衝擊之下，學院能逆境圖強，為受訓牙醫、專科牙醫、學者、研究人員、口腔護理政策者和其他專業人員，提供具質素的學術課程及專業培訓。
牙醫學院院長傅立明教授對最新的排名感到欣喜，他說：「我非常感謝每一名的學院同事和學生。過去一年，在反覆的疫情底下，他們能保持專業和良好的心理質素，盡力維持臨床教學和治療病人的服務。他們的貢獻和專業精神是值得推崇的。我們致力於提供優良的口腔護理服務，提升臨床治療效果，同時減低成本並推動普及化，以改善香港市民和全球人類的生活質素。」
