Fond farewell to Dean Thomas Flemmig
Professor Thomas Flemmig welcomes guests to his Valedictory Lecture.
Emeritus Professor Thomas Flemmig concluded his remarkable 10-year tenure as the Dean of the Faculty at the end of June 2024. On June 24, he delivered his Valedictory Lecture titled "From Good to Great", which was well attended by esteemed guests from the dental community, healthcare sector, long-term supporters and partners, as well as faculty staff and students.
During the lecture, Professor Flemmig highlighted the substantial growth of the Faculty over the past decade and the promising opportunities that lie ahead. He also reaffirmed the exceptionally high quality of our trained dental graduates.
As a token of deep appreciation, the Faculty presented him with a special gift: a photograph taken by Owen Pun, one of our talented third-year BDS students. The photograph captures Eastern Street, an iconic location adjacent to the Prince Philip Dental Hospital, which holds countless cherished memories for all of us. To make the gift even more unique, the image was enhanced with the inclusion of the Dean's car and an artificial road sign reading "HKUDentistry".
