Obituary
It is with profound sorrow that our Faculty learned of the passing of Dr Jeffrey YS Tsang, MBE, on September 18, 2024. We honour the legacy of the former Chairman of the Dental Council of Hong Kong (1988-2006) and the former President of the Hong Kong Dental Association (1972-1973).
In the 1950s, during a period when Hong Kong lacked a local dental school, Dr Tsang was among the distinguished students supported by the government to pursue dental training abroad. He was one of Hong Kong’s longest-serving dentists, leaving an indelible mark on the profession.
Dr Tsang also served as part-time teaching staff during the early years of our Faculty. His significant contributions were pivotal in the establishment of the Faculty and the development of the dental profession in Hong Kong.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Dr Tsang's dedication, leadership, and passion for dentistry will be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege to know him.
