Dr. Contini is the Instructor at Tweed Foundation courses in Tucson and Co-Director post graduate orthodontic courses New-EPGET in Vigevano. From 2005, Dr. Contini is the Visiting Professor in Tweed Merrifield Technique at the Post –graduated School of Ortognatodonzia of the University of Insubria in Varese. He was the European director elected into the Board of the Tweed Foundation from 1996 to 2002, the President elected of the Charles Tweed international Foundation di Tucson U.S.A. in 2007-08 ,and President elected of the Italian Board of Orthodontics in 2008-2009.He was the scientific director of the journal L’EDGEWISE from 1991 to 2000.
Abstract
In orthodontics we need to have the knowledge to make an individualized diagnosis for every single patient, so that it is possible to recognize individualized objectives for each one to place the denture in the position that can ensure a physiological function, with the best aesthetic and the long term stability.
The Directional Force System, taught at the Tweed Foundation in Tucson, gives us guidelines for differential individualized diagnosis and strategy of treatment and also orthodontic mechanics perfectly consistent with the individualized objectives for each single patient.
