Colouring Competition to Enhance Children’s Awareness on Oral Health Care

Healthy Shiny Smile – Knowledge Exchange Colouring Competition

Through colouring and expressing their creativity, children could acquire knowledge of good oral health habits.

The FDI World Dental Federation designates 20 March each year as World Oral Health Day to enhance public understanding of oral disease prevention. The theme this year is “Be Proud of Your Mouth.”

Good oral health habits should be established in early childhood. Children are recommended to begin regular visits to the dentist as soon as the first tooth erupts. To enhance the awareness and knowledge of young children and their caretakers on oral health care, as well as to support the annual World Oral Health Day, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Jockey Club Children Oral Health Project organize Healthy Shiny Smile – Knowledge Exchange Colouring Competition for kindergarten children aged 3 to 6. Through colouring and expressing their creativity, children could acquire knowledge of good oral health habits, hence having healthy and shiny smiles.

This competition offers winner, first runner-up, third runner-up and merit awards. All participants will receive a certificate from the Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong.
