On 11 January 2025, the HKU Faculty of Dentistry partnered with The Society of Preventive Dentistry of Hong Kong and Project Concern Hong Kong to host the first joint "Love Teeth Day" of the new year at the Kwai Tsing District Health Centre. This flagship outreach programme targets underserved districts in Hong Kong, focusing on enhancing community dental health through education and preventive care. During the event, Faculty dentists, alongside practitioners from local dental clinics, volunteered their services by offering free basic oral health check-ups to 74 attendees. Sixteen attendees required additional scaling treatment in a mobile dental bus donated by Project Concern Hong Kong, while others were scheduled for scaling at a later date. Meanwhile, HKU dental students and other volunteers organised comprehensive oral hygiene education sessions to advocate for both oral and general health. HKU Dentistry greatly appreciates the commitment and generosity of all the participating dentists, dental students, and volunteers who dedicated their time to this important initiative.
