Biography
Professor Walter Lam, a Clinical Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics at the Faculty of Dentistry, HKU, is a registered prosthodontist in Hong Kong with Fellowship status in several Dental Colleges. He actively engages in undergraduate dental teaching and postgraduate specialist training. His team has received prestigious research prizes, including the Gold Medal at Inventions Geneva and the Neal Garrett Clinical Research Prize at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR). He is dedicated to advancing digital dentistry, artificial intelligence (AI), and mobile health (mHealth) within dental care, and has published over 60 peer-reviewed research papers. Professor Lam serves on the World Dental Federation (FDI)'s Science Committee, holds the position of Secretary/Treasurer of the Digital Dentistry Research Network for IADR, represents Hong Kong in international dental standards groups, and provides international advisory services to Royal Colleges. Additionally, he is an Editorial Board Member for Digital Dentistry in esteemed Dental Journals.
