Advancing oral health through clinical and translational research

The Faculty is proud to announce that Professor Jane Pu, Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; Professor Daniel Yang, Clinical Assistant Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; Professor Zhou Ye, Assistant Professor in Biofunctional Materials; and Professor Xuan Li, Assistant Professor in Tissue Engineering and Regeneration, have been awarded the Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) by the Health Bureau.

This achievement reflects the Faculty’s strong commitment to advancing scientific knowledge, improving clinical treatment outcomes, and enhancing healthcare delivery in dentistry. With the support of the HMRF, our researchers enable to deepen their investigations, strengthen clinical and translational research work, and generate scientific evidence that informs best practices for patient management.

These funded projects draw on the complementary strengths of clinical expertise, AI dentistry, biomaterials research, and tissue engineering, with the overarching goal of improving diagnosis, treatment, and long-term oral health outcomes. Through innovative research and the closer integration of science and clinical practice, these projects will contribute to better patient care and support the continued development of high-quality, evidence-based dentistry.

The Faculty warmly congratulates Professor Pu, Professor Yang, Professor Zhou, and Professor Li on their innovative work. The success underscores our collective dedication to building research capacity, fostering clinical excellence, and delivering tangible benefits to patients and the wider community.
