The Faculty is honoured to have participated in the Hong Kong International Dental Expo and Symposium (HKIDEAS), organised by the Hong Kong Dental Association, from August 23-25!
We were excited to reconnect with friends from the dental community, exchanging ideas and insights. We also had the opportunity to showcase some of our recent achievements at our exhibition booth.
The symposium featured lectures by our esteemed faculty members, including:
- Professor Chun Hung Chu: The multifaceted roles of antimicrobial peptides in oral diseases; and Tooth whitening and dentine hypersensitivity
- Professor Mike Leung: The role of OMFS in adult obstructive sleep apnea
- Professor Cynthia Yiu: Revolutionising paediatric dentistry: the power of bioactive materials
- Professor Angeline Lee: An overview of vital pulp therapy
- Dr Stanley Lai: Are you ready for the paradigm shift: “proactive preventive approach” is the winner of future business model
- Dr Eva Nowak-Solinska: Avoiding orthodontic complications in general practice

- Dr Reinhard Chau, PhD student - Evaluating the accuracy of chatbots in answering general and restorative dentistry questions from dental licensing exams.
- Dr Jason Cheng, BDS Class 2024 student - The effect of disinfection on the accuracy of scan bodies for intraoral scanning of a single posterior implant
- Ms Qiuyan Xie, PhD student - A Randomised Controlled Trial on Dental Caries Prevention in Primary Teeth of Preschool Children Through the Use of Fluoride Toothpaste
