Welcome to the HKU Dentistry family, BDS freshmen!
Newly joined BDS students listen to the briefing attentively.
The Faculty was excited to welcome the new cohort of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme at the Induction Day on September 2.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Professor Mike Leung, the Admissions Tutor, followed by an introduction of the Faculty by Professor Lijian Jin, Acting Dean. Professor Michael Burrow, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Education) then provided an overview of how the BDS curriculum will shape the students’ journey as future dental professionals.
Students were also briefed on the important anti-plagiarism measures by Professor Colman McGrath, Clinical Professor in Dental Public Health; and they learned how to maximise the resources of our dental library and learning environment to support their studies.
The new students had the opportunity to connect with their peers and personal tutors, who will accompany them throughout their six-year study journey in the Faculty. We wish you all a rewarding and enjoyable journey ahead!
