Professor Lakshman Samaranayake, Past Dean and Emeritus Professor of HKU Faculty of Dentistry

Past Dean Appointed to Oversee the International Dental Journal

Professor Lakshman ‘Sam’ Samaranayake, Past Dean and Emeritus Professor of the HKU Faculty of Dentistry has been appointed as the New Editor-in-Chief of the International Dental Journal (IDJ) from January 2022.

Celebrating its 70th Anniversary, IDJ is the official scientific journal of the FDI World Dental Federation, the representative body of over a million dentists worldwide. With an impact factor of over two, IDJ features peer-reviewed, scientific articles relevant to international oral health issues. Taking up the role, Professor Samaranayake said, “I am honoured and humbled to be its first Asian Editor.”
