As one of the two first – batch graduates who joined our alma mater and still is a Faculty member, I saw all changes and advancements of the Faculty in every dimension. A great deal has been achieved for the youngest Faculty of HKU. I saw challenging times in recent decades or so, but all its members have persevered and continued to strive for higher levels.

On this memorable occasion, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Faculty for nurturing me as an academic in Paediatric Dentistry. It is my great honour to have served my alma mater over the years and witnessed its remarkable growth to the world’s best dental school that excels in dental education, research and oral health care delivery. I am confident that with the strong leadership and our devoted staff and students, the Faculty will scale new heights with continued success in the future.

Time flies and it is just like a snap of fingers after serving the Faculty as full-time academic staff for 27 years. There have been a lot of changes in the Faculty over the past few decades which started from a group of enthusiastic teachers to now a team of world-class staff excellent in research, teaching and clinical areas. The good old days are always sweet, but I do hope the Faculty can continue to shine for another 40 years or more.
