Professor Lo shares knowledge and information on over-the-counter oral care products during GDC seminar

Global Dental Campus (GDC) under the Institute for Advanced Dentistry, a global centre of excellence for the management of complex and severe oral conditions, is offering seminars and workshops in 2022-23 with the objective to provide dental practitioners with up-to-date research and clinically relevant findings. The courses are led by Faculty staff who are at the forefront in their disciplines and are CME / CPD creditable for both the Hong Kong Dental Council and the College of Dental Surgeons of Hong Kong.

The Kick-off seminar was delivered by Professor Edward Lo, Chair Professor in Dental Public Health, on 13 October 2022 at Prince Philip Dental Hospital. Professor Lo spoke of popular over-the-counter (OTC) oral care products such as toothpaste and mouth rinse, their ingredients and clinical evidence for supporting their various claims of improving oral health. The participants received updated information for advising their patients and the public on making informed choice of the appropriate OTC products for use in self oral care activities.

The next seminar will be organised on 10 November 2022. Dr Duangporn Duangthip, Senior Clinical Practitioner in Restorative Dental Sciences, will share “Minimally Invasive Approaches for Caries Management”.
