The Faculty, in collaboration with The College of Stomatology of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and The University of Hong Kong Mainland Dental Alumni Association, successfully organised the “2nd Frontiers Forum on Next-Generation Biomaterials in Dental Medicine 2024”. The conference, held on June 2, 2024, at the HKU Rayson Huang Theatre, brought together leading experts and scholars in dental biomaterials to explore advancements, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations.
The event showcased cutting-edge research and innovations in dental biomaterials. The forum featured a diverse array of lectures and posters, providing a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The forum also called for abstracts on Biomaterials, Dental Materials, AI and Bioinformatics, and Oral Biology, inviting researchers to present their original work during the poster sessions. One student each from The University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Peking University, and Sichuan University won the poster competition.
"The field of dental biomaterials is at the forefront of innovation, and events like this are essential for driving progress and addressing the evolving needs of dental patients worldwide," said Professor Zhou Ye, our Assistant Professor in Biofunctional Materials, and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
The conference reaffirmed HKU's commitment to fostering excellence in research and innovation in collaboration with esteemed partners. As the field continues to evolve, such forums play a pivotal role in shaping the future of oral healthcare and dental biomaterials.
