MOOC on Paediatric Dentistry

Paediatric Dentistry MOOC launches in January 2023

The 2nd Paediatric Dentistry MOOC “Minimal Intervention Dentistry for Paediatric Patients” delivered by multinational dental specialists, eminent researchers and expert practitioners from HKU Faculty of Dentistry, as well as from other universities in various countries, launched on 10 January 2023 on edX.

This course is a valuable resource for dental practitioners, dental students, paediatricians, family physicians, child health workers, nursing officers, registered nurses and kindergarten teachers. It is led by the Course Director, Professor Cynthia Yiu, Clinical Professor in Paediatric Dentistry and another 12 instructors from the HKU Faculty of Dentistry, as well as from various other universities.

Instructors from HKU are Professor CH Chu, Clinical Professor in Cariology, Professor Edward Chin Man Lo, Chair Professor in Dental Public Health, and academic staff from Paediatric Dentistry including Professor Gloria Wong, Clinical Professor; Dr Simin Peng and Dr Phoebe Lam, Clinical Assistant Professors; Dr Sarah Fong and Dr Gillian Lee, Senior Clinical Practitioners and Dr Sheetal Manchanda, Research Postgraduate.

Instructors from other universities are Dr Manikandan Ekambaram, Associate Professor of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Otago, New Zealand; Dr Xiaoli Gao, Associate Professor, Faculty of Dentistry & Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health at the National University of Singapore, Singapore; Dr Mohammed Nadeem Bijle, Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at Ajman University, United Arab Emirates; and Dr Divesh Sardana, Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, the United States.
