Oral Health Exhibition
HKU Faculty of Dentistry

With the objective to educate the university students on the etiology and prevention of dental caries through proper oral hygiene maintenance and good dietary habits, the Dental Public Health Committee (DPHC), organised an oral health exhibition named “齒作俑者” at Sun Yat Sen Place on 22 October.

The Exhibition included display boards with oral health information such as etiology, signs, symptoms and early treatments of dental caries, prevention strategies for caries, healthy dietary habits and comparison among different oral hygiene products.

In addition, DPHC members demonstrated the correct teeth-brushing and flossing techniques at the oral information booth. Participants also enjoyed the two game booths where they could test their oral hygiene knowledge and win prizes.

Project in-charge BDS Year 3 students Miss Becky Lee and Miss Eunice Leung said, “DPHC is committed to serving the society and educating the public on developing an awareness towards oral health maintenance and prevention of common oral diseases through community engagement.” The event concluded in success and attracted around 200 participants.
