OMFS Team Organised Virtual International Orthognathic Surgery Conference

The AOCMF Virtual Conference – State of the Art in Orthognathic Surgery was held successfully from 15 to 16 October. The conference was organised by the Asia Pacific Board of AOCMF, one of the largest educational bodies of craniomaxillofacial surgery and was chaired by Dr Mike Leung and Dr Richard Su, Clinical Associate Professors in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. Dr Dion Li, Clinical Assistant Professor and Dr Alfred Lau, Honorary Clinical Associate Professor in the Division, were also core members of the conference.
18 leading experts in orthognathic surgery in Asia Pacific and Europe shared their experiences in the management of patients with dentofacial deformities at the conference. Topics on cleft lip and palate, craniofacial syndromes, obstructive sleep apnea, complication management, and aesthetic and functional improvements in orthognathic surgery were covered. Lectures, panel discussions and small group discussions were delivered to over 750 participants from 79 countries of 6 continents.
Receiving many positive feedbacks, the conference was concluded with great success. The OMFS team was honoured to represent the Faculty and Hong Kong to organise such international conference and to showcase the leadership in the field of orthognathic surgery.
